Saying goodbye to a beloved pet is one of the hardest things a family will ever do, but we believe those final moments can still be filled with comfort, love, and even a little bit of joy.

Recently, our team received a very specific—and wonderful—request during a peaceful put-to-sleep appointment with one of our vets in our beautiful Room of Remembrance. The family asked if they could bring in a pepperoni pizza.
The pizza wasn’t for the owners. It was a special, delicious final meal for their much-loved dog.

A Meaningful Final Treat

We are so pleased to report that their dog thoroughly enjoyed this ultimate treat, nearly demolishing the entire pizza! It brought a gentle light to a heavy day, creating a beautiful and deeply meaningful final memory for the family to share together.

Your Goodbye, Your Choice

While our veterinary team at VetCare@Home is primarily a home-visiting service, we understand that every family’s needs and home environments are different. Because of this, some families choose to come directly to our crematorium at VetCare@Peace for their pet’s final appointment.

At the end of the day, the choice of location is entirely yours. We are simply here to provide whatever feels right, peaceful, and most comfortable for you and your beloved companion.

Personalising Your Pet’s Farewell

If there is something special you would like to include as part of your final goodbye, our team will always do our very best to make it happen. We encourage families to personalise these moments to honour their pet’s unique personality. This could include:

A favourite “forbidden” treat (like pizza, a burger, or ice cream)
Comforting refreshments for your family
Special, calming music playing in the background
Simply having a quiet, peaceful space to be together without interruptions

We Will Never Rush You

Above all else, our appointments are never rushed. We always allow plenty of time for cuddles, shared memories, tears, and love—because every single pet deserves a gentle, dignified, and beautifully tailored farewell.
